Pescara, a city of beautiful beaches. How to spend a successful vacation here?

Pescara, città delle spiagge meravigliose

Pescara impresses with its beaches and history. It is an ideal place for a holiday in Italy. Pescara is a city with a rich history and numerous monuments, and at the same time, a popular seaside resort on the Adriatic. During your vacation in this Italian region, you can enjoy wonderful weather, local delicacies, and excellent wine.

The most interesting thing in Pescara is its beaches right by the sea. The beaches are beautiful and clean, with fine, light-colored sand, and the color of the Adriatic is usually turquoise, although it slightly depends on the weather. Additionally, there are quite a few free beaches, and paid beaches are cheaper than in northern Italy. A ten-kilometer stretch along the coast, from Pescara - near the Marine Bridge - to the neighboring Montesilvano, is well-maintained and bustling with life. A "bicycle track" runs along it. However, the further into the city you go, the more interesting it becomes.

The vast majority of Pescara's beaches are equipped paid beaches with full infrastructure — sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, playgrounds for adults and children, and beach bars. Between them are sections of free beaches. Beach service for a family or a couple (2 sunbeds + an umbrella) costs about 15-25 euros per day. Although prices also depend on the season.

However, this does not mean that the city is only suitable for sunbathers and swimmers. Pescara is the largest city in the Italian Abruzzo region — an area still relatively unknown and less explored by tourists.

In this region, there are many medieval towns, vineyards, olive groves, and pristine beaches along the Costa dei Trabocchi, where even in summer it’s not crowded. Additionally, Abruzzo has national parks and high mountains, among which the Gran Sasso d'Italia massif stands out. It is home to Corno Grande (3,912 meters above sea level), the highest peak of the Apennines. Thus, Abruzzo combines sea and mountains, natural landscapes and breathtaking views.

How to get from the airport to the city center?

Buses from the airport to Pescara city center depart approximately every 20 minutes. The ticket costs 1.20 euros. Schedules and connections to other destinations are available as well.

Moreover, a new service called Pescara Air Link has recently been launched — 23 flights per day between the airport and the train station.
